Six years ago, I started to suffer numerous, headaches, regular dizziness, severe visual disturbances, and incapacitating pain in my neck and the back of my head.
I visited by GP on numerous occasions, who prescribed a variety of medications, none of which assisted in any way.
I have seen many clinicians on the NHS and privately, including neurologists, neuro surgeons, dentists, opticians, physiotherapists and have even had a couple of courses of botox injections, to attempt to reduce my pain. Again all without any positive results.
My pain was so severe and debilitating, that it resulted in me having to give up my job as a senior executive, due to the fact that I spent hours each day in bed, unable to move due to the pain I effectively retired in my early 50’s, because I could no longer hold a job down.
The sensitivity of the back of my scalp and my neck became so intense that I could not place my head on a pillow, which meant that I could not sleep and thus became increasingly fatigued and unable to function normally.
As a last resort, I contacted Ilkley Chiropractic Clinic, and asked if they could treat Occipital Neuralgia. At my initial consultation I met Dr. John Rees, who seemed to comprehend immediately, my symptoms, the nature of my pain, and my emotional dilemma.
After my first treatment, I drove home in noticeably less pain. I visited John twice a week, for a month, feeling much better after each treatment. I could now stop having to go to bed in the afternoon. After a month I even treated myself to a glass of wine; the first for a number of years.
After two months of treatment, my symptoms are 80% better, my life is almost back to normal, and I feel that I have been given a new lease of life.
Of all the clinicians I have seen in the last 6 years, the only one who has improved my condition and re-introduced the concept that I can live my life normally again, is John Rees of Ilkley Chiropractic Clinic.
